Code of Conduct

As members of the Texas Surplus Lines Association and in recognition of the responsibilities entrusted thereof, we each confirm and endorse the following code:

1. To maintain high professional standards of efficiency, conduct, responsibility and service.
2. To exercise the utmost good faith in dealing with principals, underwriters and assureds.
3. To know, understand and comply with the applicable statutes, rules and regulations promulgated under the Texas Insurance Code pertaining to surplus lines insurance and licensing, and to observe all other relevant state and federal laws.
4. To exercise the utmost responsibility and to act prudently in determining the financial stability of markets being used.
5. To remit on a timely basis the full and proper taxes on excess and surplus lines insurance.
6. To be governed by a spirit of cooperation, helpfulness and frankness in relationships with fellow members to professionalism within our industry.
