2025 Committee Volunteer Form

Your opportunity to serve on a TSLA Committee in 2025 is now available! Please see below for committee descriptions. Everyone who volunteers will serve on a committee. It may not be your first choice, but you will be asked to serve.

2025 Committee Volunteer Form

A few reminders:

  • The TSLA Texans Under Forty Committee will be capped at 15 committee members.
  • In 2022 we implemented a rule limiting years of service on the TUF committee to two years (except for chair and co-chairs). If you have served on the TUF committee for two years, you will need to choose a new committee in 2025.

Everyone needs to complete a form to serve on a 2025 committee, even if you served on a committee in 2024.

If you need more information or have questions on time commitments, etc. please contact me at jptsla@tsla.org or by phone at (512) 567-8014.

TSLA is a true volunteer driven association. We need every member firm to find at least one person in their office who can volunteer in 2025, if at all possible!

Committee Descriptions:
The committee is tasked with the annual responsibility of managing the Membership Roster & Product Guide, as well as reviewing the product guide forms completed by members. Its primary duties include securing advertisements for the product guide and proposing modifications to enhance its user-friendliness for local agents.  Meet the 2024 Advertising Committee.
The committee is tasked with creating a new continuing education (c.e.) class annually, which will be included in the TSLA topic list and made available to local associations. Additionally, the committee will periodically review TSLA classes for necessary updates and reach out to local associations to provide our classes free of charge.  Meet the 2024 Education Committee.
The role involves welcoming new members to TSLA and providing assistance to the Executive Director at the conference as required. The committee is also tasked with writing thank-you letters to sponsors following each conference. Membership on this committee necessitates attendance at either the Annual or Mid-Year Meeting annually.  Meet the 2024 Host Committee.
The committee is tasked with overseeing legislation that could impact TSLA members and collaborating with TSLA's legal counsel on lobbying activities. It will also ensure that TSLA is kept updated as necessary.  Meet the 2024 Legislative Committee.
The committee's responsibility includes recruiting new members for the association and reaching out to firms that are not renewing their membership to ascertain the reasons for their non-renewal.  Meet the 2024 Membership Recruiting Committee.
The committee is tasked with reviewing and processing all membership applications submitted to TSLA, in addition to reviewing and investigating any written complaints against TSLA members. It may also be called upon to reassess membership applications when changes and updates are necessary.  Meet the 2024 Membership Services Committee.
The committee meets with the TDI in Austin four times annually to discuss regulatory issues. Attendees include members from the Agency Affairs section of the TDI, among others, and representatives from the Comptroller's office. The committee must supply the minutes of these meetings to the TSLA office for publication on the TSLA website. Serving on this committee means representing TSLA, not one's own firm, and any comments made should reflect only the policies and stance of TSLA.  Meet the 2024 Regulatory Liaison Committee.
The committee is tasked with aiding the TSLA Executive Director in creating social media posts across different platforms. Additionally, the committee ensures the TSLA website remains current all year round and extends a warm welcome to new members.  Meet the 2024 Social Media Committee.
The Stamping Office Committee's duty is to uphold a liaison role between the TSLA and the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas, coordinating periodic meetings with the Stamping Office Executive Director and Board as necessary.  Meet the 2024 Stamping Office Committee.
The committee is tasked with organizing numerous business mentor events and happy hours across different Texas cities annually. They aim to offer Continuing Education (CE) classes during these events when feasible. Additionally, the committee is responsible for arranging local volunteer opportunities in Houston and Dallas for TUF members, and managing a social event at the TSLA Annual Meeting. A TSLA member is not permitted to serve on this committee for over two years, with the exception of the chair and co-chairs.  Meet the 2024 Texans Under Forty Committee.
