Village dwellers pack this beautiful space for its warm, friendly service, and top-notch food. The menu is small, but the nightly specials are worth investigating. High rollers and celebs consider this their neighborhood boite. Others come just for special occasions. The lobster and shrimp martini salad has hearts of palm, avocado, and pink grapefruit segments; the baby green salad has shaved fennel with a lemon-chrvil sauce; and the chicken breast comes under a sun-dried tomato pesto.

Seafood towers make impressive table decorations for those who want to indulge in crab claws, oysters, shrimp, or caviar. Steaks and pork chops are huge and tender. The rich sides are served family-style. Salads are also big enough for two people, like the desserts, which all come with a giant bowl of whipped cream.

The chicken pot-pie is legendary both here and at the original Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills - the ultimate power-lunch spot. At this location, whether inside the marble and dark-wood envisions or out on the patio, diners enjoy American comfort food such as chopped salads, filet mignon, and baked trout with crab. It isn't inexpensive, but it is good. The bar menu of small plates like mini Kobe burgers and popcorn shrimp gets very reasonable price-wise during happy hour.

It's fancy, spendy, and fancy - not your usual Mexican cocina. Eat in the bar area where huge margaritas are being blended, or on the front patio while people-watching, or in the main dining room with the massive chandeliers strung with red glass hearts. Chef-owner Leticia Hansen turns out beautifully plated entrees like chicken enchiladas with Oxacan cheese and cochinita pibil, which is pork in artichoke sauce. Her partner and husband Mark Hansen, makes sure the dining areas are running smoothly.
